I just went from Quicken 2010 to Quicken 2012 for home.
It has some significant upgrades. ( I can't comment about differences from 2011 since I never used it.)
The major changes:
1. It doesn't "force" a monthly reserve for periodic larger bills.
2. As you look at the planner tool, you can edit your budget with once-click access to you budget. Easy to do on the fly.
3. The monthly planner show amount spent, as well as pending payment reminders. So, you can see how much as really left to spend in each category.
It is a much more robust planning tool that before.
