Re: Quick reference to Cecil lion petitions

Thank you all for the links.  I am just heartbroken over this.  I have shed so many tears over this and to see the photos of others he murdered , just sickens me.

I know it doesn't solve a thing and only hurts me , but I am  so full of hatred for this man.  I know I should hate what he did , and not hate the man- but I am just being honest about what is in my heart .

I have my thoughts on what justice should be in this case , but I will not elaborate as I don't want to upset anyone who feels it too harsh, nor do I  want to be banned.

I hope with all that is in me, there is justice for Cecil.

Homegirl..

Thank you for posting these links. I had already signed all of them (I am a member of Causes) as well as several other petitions...then posted them all to my FB page.

I've also posted any articles that I found online in other media/news sources sources to my FB page as well...along with my comments. I can't share those here as the language is very strong.

I only use my FB page for anything to do with animal rights, etc. because I truly believe that WE are THEIR VOICES and must speak up for them ...so my FB page is my podium.

I signed this one as well and also posted it to my FB page. Am praying with all of my heart that in this case the "Circle of Life" is interfered with and that those precious cubs are saved. It would be a fitting tribute to Cecil to have his bloodline continue to survive.

I went to a few of the petition sites that you had posted, but didn't sign.  I do not feel comfortable filling out my name, address and e-mail address.  I can only imagine things that can go wrong if this information gets into the hands of a dishonest person.

I really am not even sure if the petition will help or change anything..  Be careful ladies and gents.

I absolutely do not want to side track this really important thread -but what are you afraid of really ,with signing  an online petition? If you start a new thread "dangers of signing online petitions" I would read it- I have signed many, and actual results have been obtained-what are you so afraid of?

Posters, the Los Angeles Times featured quite an article on a man named Matthew Crouch.  In the article was a large photo or two of his 'trophies' he displays openly at his home.  All were collected in Africa on his hunting excursions.  Please look this up - maybe three years ago.  You will not be pleased.  Additionally, know that Mr. Crouch is the head of TBN and you can also look up that station and what it is all about.

@Carmie

You are right to feel unsure, but I (and probably many other posters here) have signed petitions for some years now.  I, too, felt hesitant at first and didn't want my name and address on some random website.  I also have never joined Facebook and have a very restricted online "presence."

However, I have been signing petitions such as this for a few years now and am proud to say that these are things I believe in and, because I believe in them, this is one small way I can stand up for those beliefs.

Also, I have received a LOT of feedback and updates from the originators of these petitions and frequently they DO enable change.

It's not just pie in the sky.

Take your time and think about it and follow your heart.

That's OK - but there are legitimate ones, too.  I've had no problems with care2petitions in a few years of signing there.
