Can you please help me with the correct pronunciation of this young man's name?

For men, the masculine version sounds like Gah-el. For women it's feminized, sounding just like Gale. It's of Welsh origin. I've seen men and women with this name in Celtic literature. I think it's a cool name. 

 

It's not a Spanish name, although it was adopted over time. I've never seen it in my large Hispanic population though.  Without knowing how to pronounce it, I think most men would not be happy to be called the feminine -- Gale.

"Gael" is a Welsh name with roots in Celtic culture.

Just Google  "How to pronunce Gael in Spanish" a box will pop up that let's you hear how to  pronounce it.   It sounds like "guy-el".

@BlueFinch - Thanks for your help and the explanation. This is a young man from Mexico. He doesn't speak much English, but he's learning. Now I will not mispronounce his name!  Smiley Happy
