Yes, a smartphone is a computer with a data plan. When I use my phone at home, I have Wi-FI turned on, and the data plan turned off. You may want to

skim your service manual, and start enjoying your gift.

Set it up to connect to wifi when you're home automatically.  Hit the Safari icon and get on the internet and go to QVC.   You can set up a bookmark to make it easier

Re: Question for IPhone users...............

I am an Android gal who bought an IPhone when my contract ran out because I got a DEAL  on two phones.  So there is a learning curve in any case and I was not a happy camper since my Android gets more  free apps and operates a bit differently.  However having my new phone for about a week I am getting used to it and actually am liking it.  Now for the advice.

1.  Youtube has videos about using the phone... just search

2.  There are books out there that help.   I got a magazine in my local  Safeway and it shows basics and not so basics.  Amazon has oodles of help books.

3.  And when all else fails  find a12 year old to ask (grandson or two) LOL

Re: Question for IPhone users...............

Many thanks again gals.  I am slowly learning.  So much to absorb, especially when you have gotten used to an entirely different phone.

I have one grand-daughter who lives nearby and she came over last night.  She has the same exact phone.  She upgraded hers the same day I got mine, so she can teach me a lot.  Hubby has an Android so it's difficult for him to try to teach me.  She transferred my pictures and contacts.  Things are coming along.  Last night, she and I were e-mailing, texting, sending pictures, etc......  It's great to have people who know what they are doing.  I am speechless to see her texting with both thumbs, while looking up at the sky, or holding the phone under a blanket and texting with no errors......  Kids - LOL..........

Easy for them to do....  I wondered if anyone here was posting from their iPhone, so I thought I would ask.  I learn a lot here and am glad I asked the question.

Thanks again - I'm sure I'll think of something else.......

I think you will be happy when you get the hang of it. I bought my mom an iPad. She would never use a computer too long without becoming frustrated and giving up. She's doing all kinds of stuff now from the iPad. She loves it.
