Several years ago before the economy tanked I was quite successful selling items on eBay, mostly antique/vintage glassware and china. Granted that was also before eBay got so regimented and expensive. I loved doing it and was planning using that as a way to generate extra income after I retired in 2006. I have tried several times to sell again but am not having a lot of luck. Just wondering - for those of you who have had some success what is your favorite "trick of the trade"? Do you use auction format only or "Buy it Now"? Do you use a lower starting price to increase interest or sell only for what you absolutely want to get out of the item? Do you offer a return policy (I generally do not)? Guess I want a lot of info but anything you can suggest would be greatly appreciated! Am wondering if it's just me or if it's the current state of affairs - I suppose it could be a combination of both. TIA.
