Question about wireless phone plan

Does anyone here use Google phone service?  Project Fi

If so how is it, how is the coverage and service.

A co-worker started using it when his phone bill got to be too high as was loving it and the low price.  (he has a family of 6 with high school and college age children)

He is no longer with the company so I have not been able to follow up with him as to how it is going (sometimes things do not turn out to be as good as we orginally think).

So I thought I would ask here.

Re: Question about wireless phone plan

Tracfone lover here. I got 5500 minutes. Never turn it on. emergency use only on the road, electricity goes off in house, or call in a pizza while in car.

Re: Question about wireless phone plan

I’ve been on Boostmobile for about 10 years.I love it.I’m in a family plan with 2 IPhones & one Android on it.I have unlimited text & talk & 10 gigs of data per month on each phone. It only costs $90 a month for all 3.

Boostmobile is part of the Sprint network.I’ve never had issues with reception or the like.I highly recommend it.

@Abrowneyegirl, my husband and I both have Samsung cell phones with our plans being through Tracfone.  We've have had such great luck with Tracfone (and the price is great) that we dropped our home phone!

Re: Question about wireless phone plan

So no Project Fi users on here Smiley Sad

I will have to start some more research.

For DH and I due to professional responsiblities we have to have our smart phones operating at max. preformance 99% of the time.

We both actually have 2 phones each, just in case one malfunctions we have a 2 second phone at the ready to switch service to so in a matter of a few minutes we are back in business.  It is so easy to do now-a-days too, tech is amazing to me!

Re: Question about wireless phone plan

I can not , in the farthest reaches of my imagination, imagine paying what they charge for an i phone. Yes, I know it's a better phone, in general, but to me it is not worth the initial investment. Same with an i pad. I can buy other android brands for a fraction of what apple products cost that serve my needs perfectly. I far from use all the aspects of my Tracfone, so I know I don't need to have a smartphone that's any smarter than my Samsung  tracfone. I think it's important for the consumer to evaluate what their smartphone NEEDS actually are , then look at everything out there and make their decision based on fullfilling those needs, not just buying what is trendy.

Love my Samsung Tracfone and pay as you go plan.....My phone has all the bells and whistles of those expensive phones.....and when we are out and about, its funny how my Tracfone has the better reception than my family/friends expensive phones/and expensive companies too........

Now if you plan to watch a LOT of TV or movies of your phone, you might want to bump your Tracfone Plan to the next level you can get an unlimited plan if you need it, but pay as you go works for me and I still do texting, calling, take photos, check Facebook, and even play a game occasionally..........

Re: Question about wireless phone plan

@151949

I have to agree there are MANY phones out there today that far exceed iPhones in features.  Most people today who require a phone for work/business base phone decisions on needs, capability and compatibility NOT price.

My DH has to have an iPhone for business due to software platforms that have to "talk" to each other.  (his company supplies the phone, we paid for the second 'back-up' iPhone)  He misses his Samsung terribly.

I can not use an Iphone for my work, again due to tech. compatibilities, but my phone cost more than the iPhone.

We are also the type of people that only upgrade to new when we absoultly have to, I HATE changing phones!!!!

I find this with my Samsung tracfone too. Has never failed to have great reception. At my neices camp in Pa I had 4 bars when her tracfone had NONE.She said I'll have to get one of those for when I'm working from here at camp.
