Question about what you're allowed to post

I know we can't post anything political, but I just posted some sad news about another country. Are we not allowed to post anything like that either? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Check the Standards under your name at top right. It outlines what you are allowed to post.

Some things fly, some don't. I know they say nothing political but sometimes those threads actually last if posters can behave themselves, but that's rare. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Thanks - I reread the standards. Believe me, I'm careful about what I post. This was NOT political and not controversial. Don't understand why I couldn't post about it.

That is no help whatsoever because the standards are too vague.

I think threads are deleted if there is a possibility they could go south. Not a probability, not because they have, but someone sees a potential. The sky could be blue overhead and that's all it takes-

I think sometimes it also has to do with whoever is monitoring the boards at any given time. Some monitors are a little more sensitive than others in what they think is an appropriate discussion.

Some discussions and get really heated while others about what you like about a certain State is wiped/erased out really quick.

And too unevenly enforced.

Re: Question about what you're allowed to post

Thanks everyone - I still don't understand, but after reading your replies, I get it.

It was about a school in Africa. I have friends who teach over there.
