Need some help. I went for my annual doctors appt (age 54) and the doctor was examining me and said she thought she felt some nodules on my thryoid. So she sent me to get an ultrasound.
She called me on Friday and said there were a few nodules, and gave me mm size...but said she would recommend checking on them again in 3 months, or going for a biopsy. She said for me to make the decision. Well, I am a worry all the time, so I said I would rather just get the biospy done and know what is going on.
Now I am a nervous wreck. Anybody go thru this procedure? I know there is a large needle, and that they do not numb you with anything, other than giving you a valium.
They say thyroid cancer is very rare, but I am a nervous.
I have never had any health problems before.
Please let me know if anyone has gone thru this.
Thanks in advance!!
