I have an 7-year-old Maine Coon mix named Boo Boo; we adopted him from a rescue shelter when he was 4 months old. Boo looks like a big, burly boy but he's always been a little fragile medically.
Recently he's been upchucking food that seems to disagree with him--not all the time but enough that I'm wondering if this could be a function of getting older? He seems like the same young dude we brought home but he's now well into middle age.
We've decided to switch him--gradually, of course--to Eukanumba for sensitive stomachs. I'm hoping it'll agree with him more than the regular Eukanumba he's been getting for several years. I think the Eukanuba costs a bit more but it's well worth it. They (he and my other cat, Spot) were Science Diet kitties until SD discontinued the flavors they liked and our vet suggested we switch them to Eukanuba.
I've always wondered if the fact that he was discovered at age 3 weeks as an unweaned baby has something to do with his medical fragility. I don't know if he was nursed by a foster mother after he went to the shelter or if his mother might have been fragile herself and passed it on to him or...who knows what. In any case, I hope this works out for him, and any positive thoughts or prayers you might have for him would be gratefully welcomed.
