Re: Question about ordering food

[ Edited ]

One of our steakhouses nearby started selling eggs, cream, milk, and other perishables..even prime steaks as soon as the shutdown began. They even threw in a roll of toilet tissue with each order! Other local restaurants, both high-end and small independent ones,  started doing the same and I think it helped them survive. They had to cut off their power to save the cost so all food would have been thrown out. Smart marketing I think!

Re: Question about ordering food

Every area is different.  In my area, we don't have Post Mates (or not many places are part of it).

I find in my area that Door Dash and Grubhub overlap and tend to have the same restaurants and fast food,

Uber Eats has more fine dining.

I have also read online that sometimes restaurants are added to a service without their permission, so you may try to order something and it will be cancelled.

It's always good to confirm with the restaurant if they are using a service, it will keep you from wasting your time.

Re: Question about ordering food

Lately, we've been using curbside pickup or just go in the restaurant and get takeout.

Re: Question about ordering food

I started using good delivery during this time.  For me, the monthly payment of. 9.99 a month for a all free delivery works out well if you at least order two to three times so you get free delivery.

I use uber eats and door dash but for me I have to pace myself....it is too easy....and it may seem free cause you are not paying out your purse at the time.

Re: Question about ordering food

We are lucky to have  many restaurants in our small town. Most are on the  main street. If they don't deliver it's a quick pick up for us.  You can get just about any type of food you like from cheap to expensive.

Re: Question about ordering food

Delivery services are often listed on the food retailer's website.  Or just look to see if your restaurant offers delivery and go with that.

I've never had to go through a delivery service's website for delivery.
