For those of you who have had this procedure, how old were you when it was done? Any regrets?

I am looking into it, it may be my last option. I never had problems with that time of the month until after I had my kids. I did not what cramps felt like until I had my kids. Since my kids were born I have debilitating periods. i compare the cramps to early labor contractions.

My OBGYN is one of my close friends and we have talked about it and the first plan was to go on BC. But since my body does not handle hormones well that is out. Then she prescribed me pain meds which work but knocked me out and obviously I cannot do that with kids. I have asked her about a hysterectomy and she does not like the idea since I am still so young. But really I don't see why its that big of a deal. I would rather go through surgery then to be stuck like this until menopause decides to hit. She said that if I truly have my heart set on she will refer me to a colleague but she herself will not do it.
