I don't recall any FIL on any of my SS appliances but I do know the best thing to clean them with is the bio cleaner cloths.  They make them look amazing.

@ANewHue, what are "bio cleaner cloths"?  I don't believe I've heard of that.

@Sunshine Kate. I bought them here they are basically for glass.  You just use water and wring them out real well (that's the key) they are the best I've ever used on glass and  SS.  Also, when I'm using my steam cleaner I do hit all my appliances with it before I use the cloths.   I just checked and they're not in stock but you may want to check with CS, they were popular so I'm sure they'll bring them back maybe in another configuration since we're coming up on  Spring cleaning season.

I clean mine with a very soft damp microfiber cloth.  I've read the slight film put on these stainless appliances has to be rubbed off.

How long does it take to come off?

TIA

I clean with vinegar.Sometimes with a towel or paper towels. I put white vinegar in spray bottles in all wet rooms, and my GYM. Cheap, non-toxic, no streaks, drops mic.
