Question About why QVC does this

[ Edited ]

I  wonder why the Mods delete any reference to "deals" at B&M stores, but leave all references to offerings at Evine, HSN, etc.  Aren't they just as much competition for the Q as say Belk, Macy, etc.?  Just curious.

Re: Question About why QVC does this

QVC owns 38% of HSN so they gain even when we shop at HSN.  However, the mods still delete coupon info for HSN, which seems silly to me when it is like a sister station in a way.  Why not support a company you own more than third of – so QVC gains & grows financially?

I will never understand their logic in deleting some of these items.

Here is the link to QVC’s parent company stating their 38% ownership in HSN:

Surely they don't think it helps increase QVC sales!

You could call the QVC Office of the President and ask.  They have people in that office who keep track of comments about the forums and moderators.  They may not answer you, but they will likely note your concern about inconsistencies.

@Perkup ... I didn't realize they did that. I just posted a coupon code for Kohl's. I suppose it will be removed.

QVC does not own HSN.  They are both owned by Liberty.

I believe the Mods do not delete any or all reference to B&M store or deals, but they do delete posts with links to these deals or stores. I have noticed that when a post is deleted, the Mod will leave a reason and most time the rreason explicitly says that there was link to a store included in the post.

So I think I've seen plenty of posts with refernces to stores that are carrying merchandise that is competitive with QVC, but if you show the direct way to view that competitor's merchandise by suppying a link to a web page of the B&M store, you will be poofed off the thread. I admit it's a fine distinction, but you can mention competition, you just can't point the way with a link.

Correct.  You can mention the savings or deal but you can't post coupon codes or links to those codes.  Read your community guidelines and standards.

Re: Question About why QVC does this

I frequently post about some things I buy elsewhere and state what store and how much I paid. But I've never posted any coupons, codes, item numbers or retail links for those stores. Just going by forum regs.Woman Happy
