Question About My Breville Smart Oven And Electrical Safety

During the Amazon Prime Day I purchased a Breville Smart Oven Pro. I had a small toaster oven I plugged into an adapter ( with three outlets) so I could also use a blender when I wanted without unplugging the toaster oven. Anyway the outlet is a three prong one, but when I tried to plug the Breville Oven in, it seemed like I was forcing it in. My question is, is it safe to use an adapter or a power strip to plug the oven in?

No, it needs to be plugged directly into a three prong wall outlet.

That would not be safe. I have a Breville oven. It is hard to plug in but does get easier.

You need to be extra careful with any appliance that creates heat.

Iron, toaster oven, portable heater, tabletop oven, etc should be plugged directly into a wall socket that's rated for the wattage the appliance will draw.

Worst case scenario is a fire in the wiring behind the wall.

I just wanted to add to this earlier post of mine.  I unplug the oven after I use it each time.  It gets so hot I would hate for it to be turned on by mistake.

@NickNack, I feel like I'm forcing the plug in, I don't know if it is safe. I did read the manual, I think it said you can use an extension cord. I was thinking of calling an electrician to check out the outlet, I would hate to spend the money if it isn't necessary.

@Jordan2  It feels like I'm forcing the plug in, too.  It really does get easier though.  I don't know why.  I don't think it's your outlet.  I think it would be extremely unsafe to use an extension cord on an appliance like that.  I would make sure the manual said that before I did it.

@NickNack, it states "If an extension cord is used, (1) the marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, (2) the cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally and (3) the extension cord must include a 3-prong grounding plug." I also wanted to add it beeps when you plug it in, is that normal?

@Jordan2  I don't think mine beeps when you plug it in, but mine is older.  It may be normal for yours.  That's interesting about the extension cord.  I'll bet it will be hard to plug into the extension cord, too.

@NickNack, I have an adapter which allows you to plug it  into the outlet and then gives you three additional plugs, it did fit in that. I think I'm going to go to Home Depot and ask their advice, if I could get an adapter or surge protector.
