I wish they would bring Adam Lambert to American Idol as a judge.  He would be fantastic doing that also.

@shell garden  Yes! I think he was some kind of mentor one year.

@SeaMaiden...YES!  I do remember that now and he performed a song during the show.  Maybe he might do that again if he isn't going to be a judge.

While I do not disagree with the talent of Lambert and the fact he is a great showman, I still feel no one can replace Freddie Mercury's style and voice.  I feel the same about many singers who have passed, Geoge Michael being one of them.

With that being said I am sure Lambert and Queen will draws audiences and carry forth the great music as well as their own originals. I am glad they were able to continue on and still wow audiences.

@spiderw...I agree what you have said.  There is no other like Fredie Mercury's style and voice.  BUT, it's also true with many many singers we have lost over the years as you mentioned above and also the likes of Elvis, David Bowie, John Lennon, George Harrison, Frank Sinatra, and we can go on and on and on.

Every one had a unique style and great songs during their time in the business.  I am so glad, though, that the "Music Keeps Playing On" of all these great singers on radio, CDs, TV shows, and bands forming like Queen with Adam.  The "BEAT GOES ON" as Sonny and Cher used to sing. And that's the way it should be.

So....this happens quite often....one night recently....it was close to midnight and my phone showed someone wanted to do facetime.....it was my youngest daughter in Denver.....

I answered it and suddenly I saw a stage and heard Adam Lambert (recognized him immediately) singing my favorite Queen song...just as wonderful as ever.  I adored Freddie Mercury...my daughter knows this.

Her boyfriend received free tickets at work.  It was fun, almost just like I was there.

She does things like that all of the time (I never know when or where she'll be (she's coming to Va tonight to see the Washington Nationals game on Saturday, flying back on Sunday).  She leads a wonderful life.

Anyway, he sounded great.  I can't understand why he doesn't get more credit for his singing.  I think he sounds better than Justin Timberlake, etc.  He's fantastic.

ITA with everything you wrote.  Freddy had a vocal range that only one person I have ever heard (actualy singing a Queen song) can match, and oddly that one person is Pink! I actually enjoyed hearing her sing it, too, when I usually don't like to hear anyone else sing Freddie's vocals. I love the talents of all the other band members of Queen, too.  I saw them in concert at Madison Square Garden in 1978 and 1979.  I was very upset (and  still am upset, actually) that Freddy died when he did-- way too young-- and still in his prime.  RIP, Freddie, and know that your talent is still missed, even after all of these years.

I think Adam Lambert is one of the most, if not THE most, talented artists to ever appeared on AI.

@faeriemoon~~~To me, he was THE most talented ever to grace the stage of AI. I like "fair" in life and to me, that decision was based on something else, not his singing ability. He should have won that hands down, which is why I stopped watching AI after that.
