She also had a penpal in North Dakota who shared her birthday and they wrote to each other for over 70 years.  I hope that the penpal was invited to her service.

Sad news:  Adele Hankey of Park River, North Dakota, the Queen’s penpal,  passed away several days ago.

She displays many of the Queen’s letters which she saved.

I've never used cream of tartar in my pancakes....maybe that's the secret. Thank you for this very cool post!

Re: Queen Elizabeth's Pancake Recipe

I can't wait to give "The Queen's" pancakes or drop scones a try.

Now I will check out the recipe for scones. I wonder what the difference is between pancakes and scones.

I always bought scones, never made them. There was a Scottish man, Sandy,  who had a store. And every Friday he made scones. So if I wanted scones I would buy them at Sandy's.

The Queen was such a gracious lady.

I wonder if Mamie sent the Queen her recipe for fudge?  I did not know about the cream of tarter either.
