Re: Queen Elizabeth II Barbie Doll

I never understood the Barbie thing .... always seemed like such nonsense to buy clothes for inanimate objects.

That doll is surprisingly commercial.   I wonder how much Mattel paid to do the queen doll ... I doubt they could get away with paying her nothing.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II Barbie Doll

I love it and my first thought was "were/when can I buy one?"

No, it doesn't look like the Queen, IMHO it's a token representation, not unlike the dolls they've done before.  I'd still love to have her.... Woman Happy

I love Barbie dolls so I will get one too if I can.

I think it's lovely.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II Barbie Doll

IMHO it would have been nice if the doll had been designed on a "younger" Queen Elizabeth. That would still make it special for her Platinum Jubilee.

Barbies haven't been the same for a long time now.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II Barbie Doll

Wish I had her wrinkle free skin and trim body. It's the kind of thing Barbie collectors might enjoy, but I wouldn't give it to my granddaughter for Christmas.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II Barbie Doll

I think it's huge fun, and not to be taken too seriously.

I find the resolute set of the lips of "Barbie/Elizabeth" to be rather eerily accurate--  I've seen that expression over the years, on the current monarch.

[ Edited ]

I think the doll looks sort of like Wallis Simpson.

Edited to add: I don't want one. But I don't collect dolls or barbies.
