You're welcome, @proudlyfromNJ. I like and respect you, too, and I thank you for that lovely compliment.❤️

Sorry @Anonymous032819 we often agree, but not on this one... No, actually, at a corporate, business or educational entity level silence is not acceptance. Silence is silence. It means they don't feel compelled to put on a show. I personally am finding these missives now being issued by every major entity contrived and some of them frankly offensive. I also am disappointed the only focus of said missives seems to be the black community, when there are a plethora of other minorities that have historically been marginalized and that continue to be marginalized, but who are never mentioned in these diatribes by these corporate paragons of virtue...

@stevieb I agree with you 100% but I think nothing absolutely nothing was worse than being hunted and shackled in ships and brought here and being an animal for people and probably worse. Nothing.

@stevieb, when companies take on diversity, it's usually not limited to black people; it includes all the major minorities and women. Right now, the focus is on blacks because of recent events.
One major difference is that although other minorities have suffered some of the very heinous acts and discrimination as have black people, they were never the butt of institutional slavery in this country.

@proudlyfromNJ We'll agree not to agree. Both are heinous, but virtual genocide of our native population along with utter disrespect and mistreatment of most of those who remain speaks very loudly to me...

Many of them are insulting to people who are not part of the problem.

No @suzyQ3, some were the subject of systematic destruction and relegation of those who survived to 'reservations'... Slavery ended more than a hundred and fifty years ago in 1865... but reservations, pueblos, rancherias and Indian colonies still exist as pretty much the only way remaining natives can somewhat live as their traditions dictate, albeit in a manner that is significantly diluted...
I think it best if I simply move on from this thread. I'll simply say I appreciate that QVC did not choose to email their 'message', such as it was, to customers, as so many others felt compelled to do...

Well, as imperfect as this statement might be, and as imperfect as all of us are, people are fed up with being told to be quiet.
Some of us are just as fed up with being preached at.
