I think it is beyond tacky of QVC to do this show and sell this perfume. I am so surprised that they are doing this show....and they are advertising it like it was some great event to be celebrated. I am also surprised to read the blog by JRT in Beauty blogs; she seems to romanticize the sinking of this ship and her blog piece just reads like a romance novel.
She wrote, Many have said that the sinking of the great liner was the end of a more genteel era never to be found again. We will recreate the elegance together.
This seems so wrong and disrespectful to those who lost their lives. This was a horrible, horrible event. Why would a shopping channel want to mark the anniversary of so many people dying? Just because it happened so long ago does not remove the tragic component of the event. What is next from Q, a 9-11 perfume?
It sounds like she is saying the sinking of the ship was "elegant". People lost their lives and the survivors were traumatized by the event, it isn't anything to think of in any other way.
Do you think that the "romanticizing" came from movies done on the subject? I am very surprised Q is doing this show and even more surprised they are selling a perfume to commemorate the event.
A very poor programming decision IMO.
