QVC not keeping up with other retailers.

I have been an avid QVC shopper for many years.  I have found, however, that my shoping is branching out more and more.  I find such better deals on other websites and the shipping is fast and often free.  I got LG makeup for 40% off and Clark's sandals for 1/3 less than they were on QVC.  I have always enjoyed shopping on QVC, but I am dissapointed that they have not kept up with other retailers.   Before I purchase on QVC anymore I do a web search to see if I can get a better deal.  I wish QVC would offer better pricing and better shipping.  It is a fun way to shop but not at the expense of it anymore.

I am also a very long time shopper at QVC. It used to be unique back in 1989, it is no longer. I find brands other places for much less now. The signature brands like D & C and Susan Graver maybe not, bit Clarks at TJ Max and beauty items at Amazon. Your glory days may be behind you. I am a baby boomer and do kind of still watch out of habit but good luck entertaining millennials!

I think it is perfectly normal to shop around . I still buy occasionally from QVC, but I haven’t pledged allegiance to them. I was with the Q from the beginning and I purchased many items. Things change, and so do buying habits. B&M stores know that.

I have always shopped this way -- competitively.  I am a QVC shopper for a little over 15 years, but I have never given my allegiance to any one retailer, online or otherwise.  QVC is great as just one more option for me.  I often see something I love, but at a price I refuse to pay, so I search around. That goes for any site.

Some of QVC's prices are rather shocking.

The Hansa stuffed toys.  While they are the ultimate in realistic stuffed toys, a German company, a small stuffed Fox on the website last time I looked is selling for $99.  After looking around, that same fox is selling elsewhere for 30-35% lower than QVC.

QVC's 'Nearly Natural' artificial cedar trees are priced $50 more than other retailers.

Bagatelles faux leather pants originally priced at $219 on
QVC... the retail price at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, were priced at $99.

They sold out within a few days on QVC!!!

All of the stores, Bloomingdales, NM, and Nordstrom  marked them down from $99 to $79.  Although, I don't like faux leather, I decided to try them because this company makes very good leather clothing and better than buying Halston's $450 real leather pants on QVC that were only 28" long or 30" $700 - $1000 good quality real leather pants elsewhere.

Bloomingdales was the only retailer that wasn't sold out, but only had one left and in my size.  As expected, they were superb realistic faux leather, but fit more like leggings on me that I don't wear.  I got the last pair, so returned.

A month or so later, they were back on QVC's website again...marked at $79!  Returns...maybe?  So I tried a larger size and they fit perfectly.  But, tell me what was that original $219 price that sold out when everyone else was selling them for $99?

For brand names other retailers also sell, QVC is very slow to mark them down...elsewhere they were reduced by 50-70% and sold out long ago.

Re: QVC not keeping up with other retailers.

I generally only buy things here that I can't get elsewhere, or if available elsewhere, QVC's deal is better.   Just recently I ordered the Foster Grant fit over sunglasses from QVC - they were less expensive than Amazon.  And, I got some NYDJ straight leg jeans from Chico's for $19.99 .... great sale ... price on the hang tag was $119.

I'm on the email list for sales at all my regular shopping "haunts."

Re: QVC not keeping up with other retailers.

i think a bulk of the QVC shoppers use easy pay.  they pay more at qvc, but they want the easy pay payments. many qvc customers dont want to run up a credit card.  this is something I dont understand.  Why pay 300 more for apple computer that is older model for time easy pay.? apple and best buy offer no interest pmts with a credit card to buy apple computer.

many people have multiple easy pays totaling hundreds a month.  i dont get it. but, I am not them, and it is not my money.  i can only worry about my own self...which is pretty much full time job, lol!

QVC is a God-send for people like me who, for whatever reason, cannot browse in b&m stores.  Dillard's loss is QVC's gain!

Re: QVC not keeping up with other retailers.

@ALRATIBA  ITA, I have ventured back to Chico's as I had stopped shopping with them for awhile, no particular reason.  Recently I got $50 off my purchase with free shipping!

I had simply forgotten the great sales they have.  The clothes are also great quality. Slowly moving away from the Q and soon I won't know any of the hosts, I can barely keep up.

@Kachina624  .....   I don't have time to go to b&m stores either so I do the vast majority of my shopping online.   I used to purchase a great deal from QVC but no longer for various reasons.  I usually find better prices, free shipping & handling, better quality and much faster shipping with most other online vendors. Years  ago QVC was one of only a few online "stores". That is no longer the case.
