@froggy. @SharkE.  It changed just a year ago due to a Supreme Court decision.  Now all states must collect sales tax on Internet sales.  Thank you, Supreme Court.

Yeah, thanks

Do not like it at all.  HSN has become more like QVC, unfortunately, with high shipping costs and few sales.  Too bad!

I'd buy more if I could get 20% code like I do at HSN

HSN never charged me tax, they do now.

QVC never has 20% off code either.

@SharkE

HSN charges tax because of laws in the state you live in. It has nothing to do with QVC or anything else.

For many years HSN did not charge sales tax for online orders. That has changed as of a few years ago (can't remember when it changed).

changed for me when Q got involved with HSN. HSN is closer to me too.  I see Andrew Lessman is coming over to Q.

sigh..........n/comment

@SharkE @froggy

The law changed to force internet companies to collect taxes for the states. It has nothing to do with what is going on with HSN being purchased by the same parent company that owns Q.

I'm getting more and more used to it over time. In the beginning it was weird and certain aspects annoyed me but it seems they are working it out alright. I wonder if there are any brands that will never cross over.  For example Wen by Chaz Dean. I believe he owns a home in the vicinity of QVC so when he's going to be on air he has a place to stay. HSN is in Florida so if he had to go present there, it would make his home in PA obsolete. I think some other on air people are in a similar situation like Laura Geller, doesn't she also live in the area of QVC?  Am I making that up? I feel like they often talk on air of running into each other in town and things of that nature implying they live in the area, if not full time then part time.

I don't like it at all and I've said from day 1 I think HSN is going to be totally gone.  There is absolutely no reason to have both stations selling the exact same merchandise.
