@cjm61 wrote:@suzykee As a suggestion, I have found the As Is and Final Sales prices do not go up with free shipping.
Also, when there are sales on QVC, and sales usually mean temporary, I look at what the shipping costs. I find on many items, especially the items with $5.50+ shipping, may be cheaper to buy on free shipping days even if the price goes back to normal.
See the item below. I will wait for free shipping, if the price goes up to the regular price I will still be ahead. Just a thought to save a couple bucks.
Thank you for your reply. I have bought "as is" and sometimes I'm very pleased and other times not so much. I never purchase final sale because of the lack of quality with many items anymore.

@suzykee Exactly!! I was going to say the exact same thing! I have things on my wish list that I've looked at every day. The prices have gone higher, and the next day higher, until now they are out of reach. I don't know why QVC continues to do yo-yo pricing. It's annoying. Yes, I know I can shop elsewhere. But there are items I could only buy here. If they want to up their game in sales, they need to stop inching their prices up. We DO notice it!!

@cjm61 wrote:I'm not sure why individuals don't understand retail. Every grocery store and department store I go to has "temporary" sales. The prices will go down then return to regular pricing.
This is also the case with online retailers. Every business I shop with will have sales, these prices do not stay at the sale prices forever.
The biggest culprit of this so called Yo-Yo pricing is Amazon. I save a lot of items and every day that I log onto Amazon I get a long list of price changes. Some only pennies different but some go up and some go down in varying amounts.
Another thing people don't seem to grasp is we do not go to our local stores every single day and check prices on everything. It is easy to sit on our sofa and log on and check prices online daily. If you did go in person to stores you would find prices fluctuate continually. It's been this way as long as I can remember.
I understand retail & the "temporary" sales. I was refering to the "clearence" pricing. I have never seen clearence items at retail/B&M go up in price. If any thing they go down much further in price to clear out inventory. Isn't that the purpose of clearence - to clear out inventory?, not play yo-yo?

I don't care what the thing I want today was priced at two weeks ago or last month. I make my decision based on today's price.
Sale items are different than clearence items. After living with cancer (it is incurable) for 9 years I have to watch for any savings available and then fit it into my budget. When I see a clearence item but it doesn't fit into my budget this month or next, it is disappointing to see that clearence item go up in price. I don't always have the luxury of buying what I want when I want it. A few dollars here & there may not be alot for some but it can be disappointing for others. I know because I didn't always have to budget so closely.

I have decreased my shopping at Q alot. There are a few things I can't get elsewhere but that doesn't mean I can buy them at any cost.

This is actually a matter of semantics. As a person who has been in corporate retail management for most of my life, clearance doesn't always mean the same thing at every business. There are many different names for sale items....special buy, clearance, sale, final clearance, close out, etc. So the actual designation can change from store to store.
In the case of QVC, I have noticed that things that are designated as clearance may be items that have broken sizes or colors, or seasonal. However, if that item comes back into stock in the same or new colors, the entire SKU goes to a different price. I've seen this with my wishlist items.
A business the size of QVC has to order products further out than even a department store, so they may not even have complete sales data when reorders happen. Hence, the dynamic pricing structure.

I just noticed the Yo-Yo pricing on some items ordered on Free Shipping day at HSN. This is the second time it's happened. The first time I ignored it. This time I'm phoning customer service for an adjustment.

Dynamic Pricing has been used by online retailers for years.
I see it everyday at Amazon and Macy's, to name two.
It's very much an acceptable norm, so buyer be informed. Know the price you're prepared to pay and grab it when you get it.

Nothing we can do. If I want ithe item, I have to pay the price.

I ordered a Belle sweater on lunchtime price and it came today. Very nice and fit is perfect. Hope it washes well. Anyway, I always like to go and look at the price of the item now or down the road. Sometimes same and sometimes not. 23.99 I paid and today 61.00. Wow. I am glad I paid the 23.99.
I received my Revitalize TSV today. Perfect to wear around the house and when I go get my pedicure. I can even wear to work. That turned out to be a good deal for me.
Prices sure do jump around. Happens everywhere.
