I've had a Tracfone for years and have never had a problem getting through to a human being. I pay a monthly fee (under $13) and get a new bunch of minutes and days of service. (I cannot tell you how many because I have over 4000 minutes) I do not have to purchase airtime cards. When my father was alive he was on my account and my monthly bill was $17 and change for both of us.
I seldom use my cell phone. It is hooked up to the Bluetooth in my car.

Wow, were you taking shorthand through all that.

Why do you need a card? I just go to tracfone.com and hit the 'airtime' selection, a box drops down and I select 'pay as you go' and it takes me to the minutes choices they offer.
I have never used a card for tracfone.
eta~ I just read your OP again, you dont lose your phone # unless you let your DAYS OF SERVICE expire, it doesnt matter if you run out of minutes you just dont want to let your days of service run out.

To be clear I did NOT call her a liar on the phone. I put that in parenthesis ABOVE meaning that's what I THINK she is. She was accusing QVC of being fraudulent in selling this phone with the understanding of triple minutes and that's obviously not true! They sell them all the time with triple minutes on Samsung phones!
So she was lying.
Being I don't use it much I had accumulated thousands of minutes just to keep the phone ON until this happened w the cards and not being able to get ahold of them. I had always bought cards at the grocery store and never had a problem until now.
Anyway Im not getting a phone plan from Verizon, AT&T etc because I don't use the phone much. So I wont be under a contract ever. (My son even offered to put me on his but I don't want to).
But I do intend to call back when I get the SIM card and ask for a Supervisor. Will it help? Doubtful but I will try.
To answer why not get minutes online? Because I don't want to use my debit card on the net. I don't use credit cards.
And yes Ive never had problems either with Tracfone and even recommended them to friends. UNTIL NOW.

How do you shop online?

Oh OK I see Shorty.
Do you think maybe your days of service may have run out? I had a spare phone I re activated for my son when he got home from being stationed overseas, the girl tried to tell my it didnt have triple minutes and I told her yes and gave her the date I had originally activated it, she had me hang on, shuffled threw some stuff and said OK yes I see it. So hopefully you can get your triple minutes but your phone # is gone forever once you lose it sad to say.
Good luck Shorty, what a hastle...

The woman may not have been lying. She might have been new, and didn't know that QVC offered triple minutes.
Just because the cs rep may not have known that, does not = a liar.
