OK, so it's approximately 10:05AM Monday morning.  I've been ordering Isaac things and suddenly the compute says it cannot ship to my house because of where I live....I ask to speak to customer service because the regular person 'knows nothing about what I'm talking about'.

Then I ask Customer Service what's the problem?  She says, "I'm sorry Mam, the computers are 'down'.  I said, "So what does that mean?  Does that mean I won't get whatever I ordered?"  She says, "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do, the system is down.  Call back in about 20 minutes".

OK, here's my complaint....it's not about the system being down.  It's not about the nice people I spoke to.  It's the fact that QVC can't put up on the screen, "Sorry.  We are experiencing technical difficulties.  We hope to resume you being able to order in about (blank) minutes.

They'd rather have people 'trying' to call in to order be told (not why) just that their order can't be sent to their zip code (?).  It isn't anyone's fault if the computers act crazy, I realize that.  I just think it's stupid that they can't notify people about the computer problems.  Yet they continue showing all of these items.

I've often felt QVC's comptrollers in the control room are not the best in the world.  I know people in the TV business and they say I MIGHT be right....(Ha).

Maybe people in other areas can order things.  She didn't say that at CS, she just said 'our computers are down and try calling back in 20 minutes'.

I guess I'm just frustrated because with QVC (as opposed to other very large companies) I think they take the customer for granted.....wait a minute.....I guess that could be said of many large companies....

It used to be 'the customer is always right' (for you young people that doesn't mean always give in, it means, be kind, informative and show the customer respect).  Maybe because I'm 70 soon that I remember the days when that phrase meant something.

I have problems with companies who take their customers for granted, just saying.

Phew!  Now I feel better.

I think maybe what the CS rep meant was that her system was temporarily down......in other words, she couldn't look you up to see why they couldn't ship to your address.  Our systems here at work do that periodically.  Just call them back.

I buy online.  And if the system is down I wait it out.   QVC cannot afford to be down for long.

I just ordered, via the website, and I had zero problems, from start to finish.
