The 292-acre property that once was part of QVC home shopping network was bought for $20.8 million in February by a New York-based commercial property developer.
The property’s assessed tax value is $20.9 million.
The property includes a 900-square-foot building and a 600-square-foot pad that was the foundation of the building that was destroyed by a fire in December 2021 and resulted in the distribution center’s closure.
Tolson said the site also contains a 30-acre solar farm and is served by CSX Transportation rail lines, adding that the building is “100-percent ready and usable.” He added that the pad is clean, free of debris and ready for new construction.
“They have completely cleaned that site up. All the debris is gone,” Tolson said. "Some of the buildings around the fire area have been re-roofed and re-painted. The facility is looking better now than it has in the past 20 years.

There are errors in that article. I feel certain that the buliding was far more than 900 square feet...

Actually the article says there is currenlty a 900 sq ft building and an empty pad site where a 600 sq ft building once stood - this is the one that got fire; so apparently there was more than one building on the whole site.

@LizzieInSRQ You are correct. There are several articles about the fire that listed that building at either 1.2 or 1.5 million square feet. (No indication about the other building but it is probably about the same).

@LizzieInSRQ @Maybe those are the only buildings left standing after the others were destroyed in the fire?

"In a 2006 Tar Heel Traveler report, Scott Mason said the facility was around 1,500,000 square feet and roughly the size of 30 football fields."
Quoted from WRAL News, "Massive 5-alarm fire destroys most of Rocky Mount QVC distribution center", Dec.18, 2021.
The Tar Heel Traveler is a book by Scott Maon about travel in the area.

So the warehouse was 20' x 30'? I don't think so. Send the writer to remedial math class.

what is left standing on the property could be an out-building that wasn't very big in size.

That would be smaller than my small 2 bedroom townhouse! HAHA Yeah, there is a BIG typo in that article.
