Personally, all things concidered I think they will do well. Buying was way up in 2016, and I think internet sales did well. To me it would be interesting to see where the most sales are generated. QVC TV or QVC on the internet.

HSN 4th quarter
HSN reported on Wednesday that its net sales dipped 1 percent, to $769.3 million, in the fourth quarter versus the prior year.
HSN’s sales increased in wellness, culinary and electronics, offset by decreases in jewelry, apparel and accessories and in shipping revenue.

QVC
QVC’s U.S. revenue dropped 7 percent, to $1.9 billion in the fourth quarter and 2 percent, to $6.1 billion, in 2016, according to Liberty Interactive Corp.
Domestic QVC experienced year-over-year declines in jewelry, electronics and beauty, which were partially offset by gains in apparel, home and accessories.

I think other retailers are going to have to change their shipping and handling to compete with Amazon. I chose to order a First Aid Beauty set from Amazon rather than QVC...the same product, same price no s&h. I also ordered some Patricia Wexler from Amazon because of the free shipping vs.Bath and BW.

@wonderfulworld.....YEP....the majority of the customers want free S&H. It is costing alot to have to buy something just to "try on"......I know I have cut way down on purchasing from the Q, ....just because of this very reason!!!

whenever i look at the total cost of an item on qvc, i always add in the shipping fees. you know that all of the other sites have those costs already figured into their "free shipping." i think it is more the RETURN fees that have many up in arms these days.....overall, it costs roughly $10+ to try on and return something......and that is quite a lot. i am lucky i suppose because i do still shop on qvc and i dont do a lot of returns.

I kind of wonder if home shopping channels were a great idea whose time has come and gone. Maybe to be gradually replaced by taped videos of products on Amazon.
The overhead has to be enormous. Also, there are such a glut of products out there and customer loyalty seems to be a dying concept. I use all sorts of products and don't buy the hype anymore just because the product is by philosophy or Josie or Estee Lauder. The creditability just isn't there anymore.
What I go by are customer reviews, period. That is why I like QVC and these boards. I never purchase anything on advance order.

@Plaid Pants2. I think since it's in print, and not words, the intent of posts can be misunderstood. Those of us who would like better programming, new vendors & different products, would like QVC to stay on TV...just be better. It used to be a great shopping channel.
