I was watching Jay King in the wee hours of this morning....for every call they took....the Host more or less cut the person off ...with thank you for calling...and the person was gone...mid-sentence....I loved it....the hosts here should be allowed to do it...the Q hosts are way too nice to the callers and wait too long to tell them they have to hang up...HSN...lets them say about two sentences...that's it...at least that is what happened today...

That host last night was downright rude. She not only cut the callers off but she did the same to Jay. She made it clear she wasn't interested in anything he had to say. I don't know who she was. Never saw her before.

I don't know who she is, either....and I guess you could say she was a bit rude to Jay..I think he gets to talking so much and his stories are so long....the Hosts have to just butt in to stop him....lol....

Sunala...what did Bob do??? {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

scottie I wish I could remember! All I know is that Bob was demonstrating the shower head with the vendor, and they were both speaking to her at first. When she said what she did, Bob obviously didn't know what to say, but I believe both men changed the subject and "let her go" fast! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

They say the sales go up during the stupid phone calls so they will never discontinue them. I do wish hosts wouldn't over share their personal lives though, and give people the opportunity to ask inappropriate questions or comments. Facebook has been great for supplying way more information than we ever needed to know.

I love it when the host asks ""How are you??"" and the caller says how she is. And then the vendor says ""How are you??"" and it's awkward....

...on the other hand I have seen some truly hilarious moments with the phone calls.

The woman who went on and on about how awful the product was and it didn't work.

The person who said they bought 2 of the blouses because she used to be a man. Lea Williams would probably like to put an end to phone calls after that one. She handled it well though. Only stammered a little.

I'll never forget when they put Joan Rivers and Dennis Basso on together. They took a call and the woman mentioned that her mother had passed away and she had inherited most of her Dennis Basso coats and Joan jewelry. Well, Dennis must not have been listening because at the end of the call he waves at the camera and says "hi to your mom". And then Joan says to Dennis "you need to be waving skyward" and explained what the woman had said. Oh, it was funny!

{#emotions_dlg.w00t} I LOVE QVC bloopers. I think my very first thread I started on any of the boards was requesting blooper stories.

Oh, I LOVE bloopers too!! Some have been included on this thread and they've been very funny. Maybe some people can share some more!

You said people can share QVC bloopers? Here's one. Don't worry, nothing gross or crude.

I don't see the need for them to be on FB either. Too many nuts around as there is.

Why is Facebook worse than the forums? I don't Facebook so I truly have no idea, but if it's worse than here, I never need to go there - and that's from someone who obviously has spent way too many hours here!

I always figured the phone calls were a time filler to let the orders placed by phone to get processed and the lines to calm down.

One time, Leah got a strange call in the middle of the afternoon. The poor lady went on and on and on about her health. Leah handled it so well and tactfully that I've admired her ever since.

Yes, Shawn needs to be "protected" from these calls right now. I'm assuming "callers" order on the phone and do not process things over the computer so they're not going to read here.
