Re: QVC-HSN down 4 percent this quarter

QVC has many products listed online that are never shown on air and look much more interesting than what they do show on TV.

Re: QVC-HSN down 4 percent this quarter

Funny too, I just sent an email to QVC last night, and let them know everything I have received from fairly new Martha Stewart home lne keeps exceeding my expectations, snd straight out said to collaborate more with items she personally has, and I will keep buying.  Here's the reply back this afternoon from QVC:

"Enjoy your items! It has been a pleasure assisting you."

As another poster once said, cue the Titanic song.  Hopeless.

I love that the headline says “we’re living in a changing world”. Well then, change with that world.  Maybe you’ll be surprised.

Do something to speed up your shipping times.  They’ve gotten ridiculous.

Do something on the shipping prices.

Offer some sort of loyalty rewards programs like Talbots or gazillions of other retailers.  Maybe on fashion or shoes or beauty. Put your thinking caps on and come up with something creative. Heck, even my dry cleaner has a loyalty program.

Every so often do an offer like $10 off a $50 or more purchase.  Or something like that.

Stop offering the same TSV’s over and over and over again and also stop showing those TSV’s so many times during the day and shorten the presentation length on the TSV’s.   If I’m not interested in a bed for example, I’m going to change the channel the very nanosecond I see that you’re going to talk about that bed for a solid hour.  You’ve lost me and I won’t check in again that day.

Shorten the length of the presentations on ALL products.

You’ve got gazillions of products online that you never show.  Show some of them.

Offer real sales.  I don’t consider easy pays for 4, 5 or 6 months a good deal. Far from it. It’s a major turnoff for me.

Look for some innovative products.  I loved the 50 in 50 tours. I realize that there were huge production and travel costs, but maybe do it again and send out a few scouts to each state.   Narrow the products down and do the 50 in 50 shows in the studio.  Have the finalists come to you.

Could not agree more! Especially the rewards program. Barnes and Noble offers a rewards program in my neighborhood, so does a great sandwhich shop nearby- guess what?? I always go there!!  AND PLEASE OFFER REAL SALES!!! There is a ring I've been watching for ever- never has it been on sale. For the most part, there is just too much competition with way better VALUE for me. Finally, QVC IS TOO REPETITIVE!!

@gidgetgh.  Great ideas!  Now wrap it up and send it to TPTB.  We, unfortunately, can't do anything about it.

People have good suggestions here all the time.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Perhaps they think they know more than the customers/former customers?

Repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is not a good business strategy.

It is a new shopping world today.  Unless shopping channels can keep up with Amazon....they will be gone.  I am not happy about that. But, it is just the way it is.

I think easy pay can be a disaster for some people if they get too many items on this and not realize that sometimes you can get two payments due in one billing cycle, etc.   QVC needs some rewards--an e-mail with a free shipping offer good for that day or for the next 3 days;  more free shipping; discount coupon codes, etc.  A dept. store (where I do most of my shopping now) has a rewards program that for every XXX dollars you spend you get $10.00 in their "money" and you can use it for any item they sell.  Also there are many ways you can get free shipping on all orders.

My take on this.

1.  Prices are rising and I can get similar items somewhere else.

2.  Hosts spend more time promoting themselves than the product

3.  Shipping is high and THEY could use a shopping cart approah

4.  So called sales are not really sales as in AS IS or CLEARANCE

5.  Fewer choices and over and over offers of cosmetics to make you look younger (yeah right! - Snake Oil)

Sounds like an accurate take to me @bonnielu. Your points are valid and backed up by "FACTS"

@gidgetgh.  Unfortunately, most of our great suggestions are soundly ignored.  The execs with their MBAs probably think we're a bunch of dumb housewives.
