What does it matter? Each item is billed for shipping anyway so it really doesn't matter. I have yet to see this happen in my carts.

As far as I know it's always been this way. If the item stays "available" it will remain in your cart for an hour. But if someone else buys the same size/color, whatever, and it's the last one it's gone!
@vermint They just changed it a day or two ago. I know this for a fact because just yesterday I wanted to buy the biscuits in blueberry/plain and cinnamon/plain for my husband. It just gives another biscuit option from homemade and local as he likes to freeze them to take out as desired with breakfast.
I placed both options in my cart at their OTO price, literally went to check out, so figure what 10 seconds?.... one option was GONE!!! even though it let me place it in my cart. I was shocked tbh because it has always said something like items will be held for one hour in your cart... yet when I looked up... it NOW said "items in your cart are not on hold"!!!
I quickly tried to add the blueberry/plain biscuits in again because it said they were still available, but each time I clicked to buy them, it said SOLD OUT! So the computer wasn't even keeping up with the ordering process at that time.
So I called CS to ask about the new wording about the cart... and she said they just did a rehaul of their system and as of yesterday, which would be Tuesday, we can NO LONGER expect our cart to be held for an hour. She said it was quite annoying and people were complaining they can't even put an outfit together, not knowing if one piece would sell out before the other, and now something can be gone from the time we put it in our cart until we click check out in under ten seconds.
She has been sending complaints wherever they send them, but we all know they changed it. Period.
So it did just change and apparently people are complaining it makes them feel too pressured to hurry up and place the order when they want to see a full presentation of the item. I don't find this good at all.

will check back in about 15 minutes to see if it is still there.
@sunshine45 I don't believe it will be taken away immediately unless that particular size/color/item is sold out so they needed the one in your cart to sell to someone who was checking out. That's the way I understood it from speaking with CS.
I had something in my cart that just went down to saved items after my whole biscuit mess (I wrote about in another post).

I have no issues with QVC's policy and stating that items in a cart are not on hold. That's a lot of inventory to tie up and lost revenue if people indefinitely let items sit in their cart or saved list, expecting to come back at anytime to complete the purchase. I've been disappointed a few times when I've waited or got distracted and my item sold out. That's how it works. Even in a B & M store, ya go in one day and see something you're interested in, but pause. You leave for a moment and come back to buy it, but someone else beat you to it. It's life.
