Lately, I've read several forum posters talking about how QVC is trying to attract & sell to a Younger & More Luxury Oriented Demographic.

I personally, don't think a Younger Demographic is what they're aiming for based on the Fashions being presented and what the designers and hosts are even saying.

 

While I don't mind an elbow sleeve or two, they present an awful lot.  I really have to search for a youthful short sleeve or tank that's not fly away or really long.  Same with shorts.  I don't want short shorts, but I'd also like to see options other than Bermudas.   Same with Swim Dresses.  I wish they'd also offer a few more tankinis or two piece styles.

 

The hosts are always commenting on how jackets, shirts, shorts, and skirts aren't cropped or cut like you find 20 & 30 something's looking to purchase offered at retail too.  

While sadly, I'm not young anymore. I enjoy shopping with QVC & like some things I see.  However, I would like to see a few more items like I mentioned.  Not crazy cut pieces, but regular fitted items.

 

 I think this is sometimes why I get frustrated at High prices trying to be explained away; especially for a dowdy looking floral pattern, cut, or regular fabric among other things.  I feel like sometimes they're putting Luxury prices on Non Luxurious Garments.

 

Sorry for this long post, I just wondered if anyone else has noticed this?  💝🌸

I don't get frustrated with QVC because I mostly shop where they sell things that I like and wear.  And now days, it's most often not QVC.

 

I like more modern styles, fewer prints than they sell, and the main reason is I buy natural fabrics they don't sell many of now, and their clothes run pretty big in some fit areas for me, even petites.  

 

And there is a price/quality issue I am not so comfortable buying from them now.  I can't depend on what I am ordering.

Here's my 2 cents:

 

Many shoppers here are not in their 20's and 30's, but older with more expendable income.  Possibly retired, kids gone.  People younger are at work, tending the kids, no time for QVC shopping.

Well that's what I always thought too.  That's why I've been confused by posts saying QVC is aiming for a new, young audience.  I just can't ever see that happening.

If these "younger" styles, like shorter tops, were not well received, like Candace Cameron Bure, why would they keep going with them?  Or was there a specific issue with just her?

So, you're saying, like me, you'd like to see more modern styles, prints, and fabrics and that the prices and quality are not good as well.  🌸

 

These are the reasons I get frustrated sometimes.  I wear a very small size too.  By the time a garment I do like gets to a decent clearance price, my size is always gone.😔

 

I just posted this because I've read so many threads where posters mentioned the younger demographic factor and reason for high prices.  I was just wondering what others thought about this.

 

Sounds as though we enjoy the same styles and fabrics.  Thank you for taking the time to respond.💝🌸

Im not sure about Candace, but that's a good question.

 

I'd never wear a crop top myself lol.😃

I would just like to see some more short sleeve tops and tanks for summer.  I remember when they used to have skinny tanks duos TSV's all the time.  I never see those anymore.  

I just always see threads where people are claiming this is the New QVC approach.  If it is, I can't tell it lol.😃

I believe they are now attempting to attract a younger audience, and it makes perfect business sense since their most RELIABLE demographic is aging!😁 Our buying power is a given, but the more youthful consumers have SO many more options available to them. The Q has NO choice but to try to compete for their shopping dollars.😊 Some of the designers like Kim Gravel, are now offering fashions that appeal to  both.🥰

 

I have never done so, but I have seen other posters recommend messaging specific designers with suggestions on their social media pages. I think Louis Dell'Olio and a few others through the years have responded favorably and offered some of the requested items; longer length, shorter length, more colors, etc...🥰

Perhaps The Q will too.🤞🤞

Most younger shoppers don't buy their clothes from home shopping networks. Big-box stores and online retailers are where they go. Gen Z and millennials are more likely to spend money on clothes today. So who does that leave?...boomers and they're the ones making up the home shopping landscape of buyers.

That's EXACTLY my point!  I don't know why posters would think QVC would even appeal to younger people?

All the styles and prices are all wrong for them.
