When I called this afternoon for a return, the person mentioned this, and i was so happy for her, as she had just mentioned that in the evening in Va. Beach it had snowed 10 ". That is totally unheard for in the area.

So thought this was really good for its employees and compliment the company for this.

I think they might always work from home. The Customer Service people that is.

What if you want to talk to a supervisor? The call gets transferred to his/her house?

Lots of customer service reps, including order takers, work out of their homes. And yep, if you need a supervisor, you can be transferred. They have dedicated phone lines.

I have worked at home for decades as a medical transcriptionist...love working at home.

I believe HSN does this also.

Magenta, I think most of these reps do work from home anyway. However, a couple of years ago there was a list of best employers in the Delaware Valley in the paper and QVC was one of the best for various reasons.

There's a huge call center in Texas and one in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida. I have a friend who works parttime at the Texas site.

Lots of people do this. My brother works from home, my cousins wife, and one of my friends also work from home. They all do computer type jobs. Of course they also check in at their actual jobs from time to time. I too think its great.

A few months ago I was speaking to a rep and during the course of our conversation, she said that QVC employees can work from home. If I wasn't so spoiled now from being retired over five years, it would have sounded tempting, especially w/ a 30% employee discount flag waving in front of me.

Can you imagine if they let some of the Hosts work from home? Sitting around in their robes and slippers with rollers in their hair demo- ing their Dysons ....
