Re: QUESTION FOR EBAY SELLERS

If you go to the make offer option page the buy it now price is RIGHT THERE in front of you on the right side of the page. So why would you pay more than the buy it now price? Buy it now....it's yours at that price right now. Gotta pay attention. Learn how ebay works.

???    I know how ebay works, thank you very much.  No need to be snotty about it.

I had an auction starting bid and a Make Offer option .... not a BIN fixed price option.   If someone makes an offer, the seller has to approve it first, remember?   THEN they can buy it.

Re: QUESTION FOR EBAY SELLERS

I still sell on ebay but only use the buy it now option.  I found when I used to take the highest bidder, I would often not get paid.  I also do not accept offers.  It seems ebay doesn't like you to use this format but I don't want to be bothered with the back and forth.

A while back, as an experiment, I added  this to my Terms section:

"Please note -- Terms of this auction require payment within 24 hours, so please be prepared to pay within this time frame".

Most people pay within a few hours of the auction ending, so I have this notation in all my auctions.  Sellers go to a lot of trouble to write good ads, provide good customer service, etc etc ... and I don't think they should have to chase after buyers to get their money.

Re: QUESTION FOR EBAY SELLERS

[ Edited ]

I just got a $30 offer for an item listed for $22.99. The buyer has a brand new account (just opened today), so zero feedback. It is tempting to accept the offer! But out of caution I think I'll decline it.

Last week I had a bid  on another item just before the auction  closed- they were the high bidder. The  buyer also had a brand new account (just opened that day), so zero feedback. They haven't paid yet. Woman Frustrated

My concern was that these were new accounts of people I had previously blocked- but ebay confirmed they were truly new accounts.

If these bids are scams, what would be their end-goal of bidding and then not paying?
