I do what I need to do a buy what I need to buy, fix what I need to fix  I  am not an extravagant person. Will I buy eggs at $8 a dozen? No.  I can do without eggs.

Yes, there are things on my wish list that I'll most likely hold off on. Our taxes remained stable and we found cheaper home and car insurance. However, for now we will let our household account grow instead of getting a new washer/dryer. From all I've read, the quality of many appliances has gone downhill. Since both are still working (fifteen years old) we'll hope they keep plugging away.

Last year was an expensive year for us.  Even after his cancer diagnosis my husband insisted we stick to our plan and do the home improvements we had lined up.  We started in May and finished the last job on the list in early December, with the biggest job taking place his second week of radiation.  I smiled every month when a job was crossed off the list and cringed every month when I wrote another check.

The satisfied feeling at having those 7 jobs behind us was worth the stress and the expense.  Hoping for normalcy this year, with no pop up expenses.  We continue to enjoy our very simple lives with the basic necessities.

I had to run errands today during lunch so stopped at Five Guys for a small cheeseburger, small fries and a smal drink........$18.52.  I was really shocked at their prices and even more shocked that only 4 people were in there at 12:40 p.m. with the shopping center parking lot packed.

But their fries are SO GOOD!

It seems like every lunch is now in the $20 range. That is why we don't eat out nearly as much as we used to.

We've always thought Five Guys to be quite expensive for what it is!

Been frugal all my working life, starting at 8 years old with my paper route. Wanted the popular Engineer Boots! Saved until I had enough to buy a pair.

Had nothing on my agenda to buy, so really can't say, I have put anything off. Pretty much buy what I need to function and stay as healthy and fit as i can.

Nothing else to cut back on but entertainment. Mine consists pretty much on satellite tv and doing this right here. I have no plan on cutting back on those things.

I am talking about only me now, and my sources of income and expenditures.

Another thing I didn't mention in my previous comment:

I'm delaying replacing the carpet in my bedroom. I'll watch for sales and installation specials, but until the income taxes are paid I'm holding off.
