Puppy Question and Gatorade.

I asked on the Pet site but no joy. I am interested in adopting a very small puppy. The women said the puppy is very playful and when the puppy starts to get tired she gives her Gatorade. Gatorade is full of sugar and salt and not healthy for dogs. Do you think this will have long term issues?
