Funny how a local tradition became a national topic . Many wait in anticipation on what Punxsutawney will predict.  It's become a day to hit the pubs .

" The first official Groundhog Day celebration took place on February 2, 1887, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. The annual ritual has roots in pre-Christian traditions and was brought to the U.S. by German immigrants. "

@SharkE   I want to see good ole Phil wheel around a ****** the guy that yanked him out of his warm bed. Bright lights, dippy humans standing in cold weather at the butt crack of dawn yelling and screaming.

Even the ground hog knows there is 6 more weeks of winter shadow or not.

People are easiy amused.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 ...I totally agree!...I wish they would just leave poor Phil alone and just yank and raise one of the humans up and around in the air while a bunch of inhumane lunatics are yelling and screaming...It's terrifying and stressful for the poor groundhog.

Get rid of this horrible tradition!

I really wish that they would use some sort of toy or robotic ground hog.

How about we yank Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel out of the ground?  😂

He's up for drama all the time!

He'll be part of the 'cancel culture' before long I suspect.

I never think of this tradition until I see it on the news.

The mountains will do what they want to!
