Punctuality

Been watching 'bride' shows (don't know why), and I've noticed how very often some are extremely late for their own ceremony. HOW does this happen. Maybe it bugs me because I'm usually early for anything,,be it a doctor's appt., meeting someone etc. I'm almost sure some of you are guilty of my pet peeve, and I'm sure you all have great reasons. May we possibly hear some of them? (in advance, sorry for any awful events that lead up to this).
