Not only do I think your post is WAY Too Much Information, but I think even asking people about their personal habits like this, even in public facilities, is just nosy and intrusive. There’s a limit to the casual disclaimer of “just asking; you don’t have to answer.”  Or “why did you read it, if you're so offended”?

You’ve achieved consummate rude. I’m not even going to look at this thread again to see if it’s getting further posts. Hopefully, my reply will inspire a Mod to remove the whole thread.

No one should know your fastidious personal habits in public bathrooms. Or be asked about theirs.

yeah, just my opinion.

I don't think the OP did, but this post may have.

@Carmiewrote:

I walk in use the rest room,wash my hands and use the paper I dried my hands with to open the door to leave, if possible.

I have digestive problems and have had to use dirty restrooms that I wish I didn’t have to.  My choices are limited in an emergency...have an accident ( which I have, many times) or use the dirty facilities.  I will cover the seat if it is dirty.

i hate when women straddle the toilet and do not sit down.  They leave the seat wet for the next person.

I saw a program on TV where they checked public restrooms for germs.  Most of the toilet seats were clean, the sinks and door knobs were full of germs.

@Carmie

I thought that I had heard/read that the toilet seat covers actually don't protect but somehow actually assist the germs to transfer from the seat. Don't remember where I heard it, or how it can be true, but I thought it odd.

I'd also heard years ago that the average one dollar bill was dirtier than a public toilet seat.

@Carmiewrote:

@suzyQ3  HIGHLY insulted?

Well, if you never leave a drop, no one knows you straddle.  Why get insulted if you don’t wet the seat.  You are not who I am referring to, are ya?

I am highly Pi**ed when I sit on a wet seat.  If the person who left the seat wet was in my earshot, I would insult them for sure.

@Carmie, this might help:

Since toilet height is easier on my knees, I always choose the handicapped stall.

@RedTop

I'm there too. I choose the handicapped stall whenever I can, as my knees really struggle with some lower seats. I can't believe how low some of them actually are.

@suzyQ3  well, I wanted to laugh when I saw how highly insulted you were, but thought better of posting a LOL.

But I have to say that I  am calm and yes,  I did laugh.

I use my foot to flush toilet and my hip to open doors. If I’m at a restaurant I’ll use a hand sanitizer.

@GenXmuse,  I read that as "face."

@CarmieSome of the self-flush toilets leave water on the seat.

That's good, @Carmie. Laughter is good for the soul, as long as you don't have bladder problems. But just to be on the safe side, you did know that I was not insulted; right?

Re: Public Restrooms routines

Just keep alcohol wipes in your purse to wipe down the seat, wash your hands when you’re finished, and use the towel you use to dry your hands as a barrier on the door handle when you’re exiting.  There’s just as many germs on your credit cards, car seat, steering wheel, movie theater seat, and church pew.  There’s no need for these productions that so many are going through.
