Is it time to call in the "kick butt" New Orleans Katrina Flood fixing guru Gen. Russel Honoré of Louisiana??

@JoyFilled Warrior These New Mexico steep mountain hillsides and narrow canyons that just got baked by wildfires would be a challenge even for him. Thank goodness Governor Grisham deployed the national guard to help. They are helping in many, many ways.

@On It.  I know warnings were issued but have the heavy rains materialized this afternoon?

@Kachina624 Yes! The storms are training over the area. Every part of the village is being impacted. Highway 70 is flooding and floating a large construction dumpster down it like it was a toy boat.

People down through the valley are now having to get to high ground.

It seems like dusk because the storms are making it very dark outside.

Re: Providing Relief for Fire and Flood Victims

@On It.  Yes, I just heard on the 4pm news.  Being there must be like being in hell with daily catastrophe.  You can't go out and everything sounds like a mess.  They need to quit encouraging visitors to come to town, they're endangering people.

I think I'd head back to Texas.  It must be terribly stressful being there in the middle of so much chaos and destruction.

Re: Providing Relief for Fire and Flood Victims

@Kachina624 The floods are in low-lying areas. We have sunshine and clear skies every morning. The storms form around noon, so we have plenty of time to do errands, buy groceries, and grab a quick lunch.

It is sad and frightening for the people impacted. Burn scars don't go away quickly.  I think we have a calmer weekend ahead. Hopefully, people will have time to make decisions and get the help they need.
