Police were able to save a woman and her three-year-old child, after an astute UPS driver noticed the desperate woman's message for help.
The incident happened on Tuesday, when a UPS driver showed up to pick up a package at a residence in Robertsville, Missouri.
A woman answered the door and handed over a package with the words 'Call 911' on it.
Inside, they found a woman who was being held captive by her own husband, 33-year-old James Tyler Jordan, and took him into custody.
Their three-year-old child had also been locked in a bedroom for the past 15 hours without food or water.
The woman told police that her husband refused to let her leave the home. While she was held captive, she said her husband punched her, slapped her and sexually assaulted her.
When the UPS driver showed up at the house, he was behind her, holding a gun but she managed to write the 'Call 911' plea without him noticing.
Both police and UPS praised the driver for his part in helping rescue the woman.
"We are grateful this UPS driver with more than a decade of service followed protocol when he saw a customer in distress and contacted authorities after he saw her message to contact 9-1-1,' the company said in a statement.
'Our drivers are very familiar with their routes, and are trained to be aware of their surroundings and respond to requests for assistance.'
Jordan has been charged with domestic assault, sodomy without consent, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
He is being held on $100,000 bond.

Glad the UPS driver called authorities and all was taken care of without a fire fight or other harm.
Now that broad needs to get out ot that marriage because its obvious it isn't a healthy relationship nor a good one. She only puts Law Enforcement in danger each time they come to her door for a domestic violence call.

I didn't read where there had been any previous domestic abuse/violence call to the police to this couple's residence.
Maybe I missed that?
There may be other articles on this event suggesting that, but I must've missed them.
As a past victim of domestic violence, I totally agree that she should get out NOW!They always swear they'll change, but never do.
It only took once for me and my 2 year old child.![]()
