I feel like I should be at a meeting, " Hi I'm Kitty and I'm a procrastinator." I hate calling about issues, so instead I stew about the problem until in my mind it is a huge problem. That being said , I have improved with age, but what brought the subject up was my call to the bank this morning. There was an issue and as usual I manufactured all of these problems in my twisted brain , so I kicked myself in the butt and made a call. The issue was quickly resolved and I just marveled a how I could reach my advanced age and still make mountains out of molehills. Are there any other procrastinators out there, or is it just me overthinking. If you are still reading , thanks. 🌺

I'll tell ya later......😉

@JeanLouiseFinch , I won't hold my breath. 😂

I would say I am a semi-procrastinator.  Things that would have dire consequences or inconveniences if put off, I will make myself take care of it immediately..

But if I can put something off for awhile or think about it later (put it in pending), I will take advantage of that and wait til it is impossble to wait any longer or forget about it and later just say Oh Well.  I call myself a "put my head in the sand" personality.

Sometimes I have found procrastinating has actually had an advantage.  For instance things turned out OK or were resolved without any action on my part or for some reason become unnecessary.

Currently I have 3 items on my desk that I have some time to take care off.  One I am defnitley going to to (sometime soon) and the other 2, I'll think about for awhile.  These are the type of items I have found I have to do when the mood strikes me and I clear all I can, but i have to be in the mood.  Today I did take care of an item that has been here on my desk for a couple weeks (not important but just needing done) and today I felt like doing it.

I am one that doesn't like to be early for anything, just on time.  Although I do have a bad habit of running a little late and having to rush.  So I will come to the procrastinator's meeting about 5 minutes late (my usual).

@KathyM23 , This doesn't really go with my tendency to procrastinate , but I'm chronically early. I think I feel more in control of a situation when I'm early . Who knows ?

Oh boy, do you ever sound like me @QVCkitty1.  I call it procrastination syndrome.  The longer I put something off the more I fret.

Currently I am on the verge of dropping my landline. I've come to terms with that. However, I want to transfer my ages old landline # to my cell # (which I never can remember).  I have been told by Verizon that it can be done but the rigmarole to accomplish it repels me.

I'm determined to get that done before weeks end...maybe.

Since you know you do this, just stop and make the call to resolve it. Why work yourself into a frenzy over nothing.

I'm older now and don't have time to waste making up catastrophes in my head. I'd rather enjoy life and do good for others.  Life is too short.

I'm definitely not a procrastinator. My thoughts are eventually have to do whatever it is get er done because if you don't that just brings on extra stress.
For instance--- why put off the laundry you'll eventually run out of clothes then you will feel overwhelmed in washing, drying, folding and putting away LOL

@QVCkitty1

I used to be extremely efficient and organized.  I managed my time wisely.  I don't know what happened to that person but she left the building 15 years ago (sigh).  I liked me better when I ran a tight ship.

Often an issue needs to 'mature', so not jumping right in is the right choice.  A hard call.  I am better judging when I just need to get off my duff and when waiting will give more clarity.  Maybe a age thing?
