A few weeks ago I called my Dr to tell him the fluid pill was making me so lethargic, I couldn't put one foot in front of the other. He told me I could get off of it. Things were fine for 2-3 weeks and now I'm having breathing problems that I attribute to fluid build up around my heart. I'm on day 4 of taking the fluid pills again but I'm still having problems breathing. I would have thought it would be better by now. I'll be calling my Dr tomorrow. When I had my ECHO, I mentioned to the tech that I felt like I had fluid build up and asked him it the ECHO would show it. He said it could. He couldn't tell me what he saw (or didn't see) but he did tell me to stay on the fluid pill

I have read numerous times that people will deal with depression after a heart attack, @monicakm.

@monicakm , what are you eating? Be careful of sugar, sodium and calories. Exercise is also essential. You still need a stent? Why are they waiting? They told me the same with my first heart attack, did not fix it in time and I had heart attack #2. I found a renowned heart doctor and he fixed everything. I got out of heart failure. The swelling I had too with swollen everything. His intervention in two months I felt energetic and better.

You need to be really on top of this. I learned that women are often overlooked with heart disease. My doctors always have men in their waiting room, few women except those accompanying their husband.

I've heard things similar. I know I'm depressed but I feel like it's because I can't do the things and feel the way I was doing/feeling pre-heart attack/surgery.

I do NOT like my heart Dr. He may be a good surgeon but I'm not seeing it or feeling like he cares. He told me my HA was due to Meloxicam. Really? Just how does he know that. I'm diabetic. Why couldn't that be the cause? BTW, I don't take Metformin. Can't tolerate it. Now I'm in constant pain because I can't take the Meloxicam. His answer? Tramadol Tramadol is not for long-term use and it makes you drowsy. This coming week I'm going to see about firing him and getting a new Dr. Don't ask me what I'm eating. I haven't really cooked in 3 years. Yes, I still need a stint. He was waiting for me to "recover" from the first surgery. I had my ECHO this past Thurs. I'm sure when he gets the results, he will know how to proceed. But I'd like to get a new Dr.

All of my bills are paid automatically through my bank. But if you say you're procrastinating because you don't drink coffee anymore I'd suggest going back to the coffee.😊

@monicakm @Before you switch, ask him the question about the Meloxicam versus diabetes. He might have a reason why he thinks this. You are probably not going to be able to use Meloxicam.

"Meloxicam can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG). Meloxicam may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal." There's a warning about this side effect from Meloxicam.

"To make sure meloxicam is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:

heart disease,, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or if you smoke;
a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot;
ulcers or stomach bleeding;
asthma;
kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis);
liver disease; or
." fluid retention"

@Mindy D Although, all my bills are on autopay so I just know what day they'll be deducted. Spouse set them up years ago.

Surprisingly I got more done when I was working than I do now that I am retired. I only had the weekend to get things done. Now it's easy for me to say I can do it tomorrow.

I will make a note to ask him about the Mobic vs diabetes and my HA. The only thing out of that list I had when I started Mobic was high blood pressure but it was under control.
