If you feed your gut healthy PREbiotic foods then that should help allow for the normal flora to return to normal. That's what my doctors tell me and I believe it b/c that works for me.  Gut flora varies from person to person and there is no osfa probiotic pill or anything of the such which will work for everyone. Sometimes they can be unsafe depending on a persons state of health.

The best probiotic  is plain yogurt........

@sann

Most commercial yogurts don't have many viable probiotics in them.  Homemade plain yogurt is a totally different story.

And many people with diminished gut flora can't tolerate dairy products.

That is not true !!!!!    I am one of those people that do not tolerate dairy products well, however Plain Greek yogurt doesn't bother me at all !!!!!!

That's great--for you.

You'll take note that I said "many" people, not "all".😉

It pays to research the different types of probiotics rather than taking the rec of anyone.  There's yeast-based and bacteria-based probiotics.  In the bacteria realm, different strains address different issues.  I take Florastor for my particular issue.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

DH and I both eat Activia yogurt every day. If you eat it each day, it really makes a difference. Other probiotics we both tried didn't seem to have any effect at all and they are expensive!

So are you bloated from your plumbing being backed up---sorry for such a personal question-Woman Embarassed--I went thru a few weeks where things....were not moving as they should. got me some prunes and eat 6 of them at night--always liked prunes and the juice. Also there is a herbal tea called SmoothMove that works really well too. and ampted up my veggies too-my diet has been awful lately------put many greens in my a.m. smoothies. think with the probiotics, you need to take BILLIONS and not millions and it takes awhile to work.
