I was feeling kind of down today about some things and thinking of my parents after I saw a lady on the news who is over 100.
I was thinking if only my parents lived that long. (Mom died young, dad died 3 plus years ago).
So I went on facebook to get my mind off of things, and was scrolling my news feed.
On my news feed there are all posts and news from today only as is the case on facebook. if you go on daily like I do. All posts are from the last time you were on fb up till now.
Well as Im scrolling a picture appears that my relative posted with my dad in it.
Heres the catch, my relative posted that picture OVER TWO YEARS AGO!
If you know facebook the pic would NOT repost now to my news feed in 2014 UNLESS someone new commented or hit like lately or if he posted more pics in that album.
I checked the pic and the posts, no one posted under that pic since 2012 or hit like since 2012 and my relative didn't post any more pics with it in the album. Its a pic that stands alone.
Yet this picture that was posted over 2 yrs ago w my dad in it showed up on my feed tonight.
I started getting choked up.
To add -after my dad died I was playing words with friends (like scrabble) on facebook, and when my letters appeared to use to play a word, my letters spelled out in order exactly my dads first name. I didn't make the name playing, the letters came out (to use) formed in his name! At the time, I took a picture of it so people wouldn't think Im losing it, and they couldn't believe it.
I know probably coincidences, but these are things that make you go hmmm and wonder if there is an after life and our loved ones are watching over us.
I hope so.

I hope he is, shorty.
I sometimes feel that my parents are warning me about things. Most recently, last Sunday, late at night I was doing a laundry. I swear I _heard_ a "No!" and froze before moving, and a HUGE roof rat ran just in front of me in my garage.
I have an exterminator setting traps under my roof now--these infestations are frequent in S FL but worrisome as I fear they may get into the main house, attached to the garage.
My sister heard the same thing--"No!"--when summoned early in the morning when she was a student working in a doughnut shop.
She stayed in the stock room instead of responding to shouts and an armed thief shot out the windows of her store.
Way worse than a rat, but she _heard_ the same thing. "No!"
I don't know--maybe it's just in the genetic code. "no" and "yes" from ancestors? At different times I feel each of my parents very close to me. So do all my siblings, without exception.

Anything is possible. Especially with highly intuitive people.

Shorty - I totally get it.
My dad passed away in 1970 and about two years ago, I got a random e-mail from someone with his exact name.
Now, mind you, my maiden name is NOT common...turned out it was a legitimate business e-mail and the person who wrote the e-mail told me he had NEVER met a person who had his same name....
Just tells me that Daddy is always watching out for his little girl!! ;-)

Thanks for the replies.
I am sorry for your losses.
Your stories are something too. It really make one think what if.
I have always been a skeptic at some of these topics, but not anymore after hearing so many stories from others and from some of the things Ive experienced the past years.

You may believe this or not, the choice is yours.
You know how you have a personal phone book? I have one in the kitchen, near the phone of the counter. After my DH passed away, I was looking at the ratty phone book and bought a new one. I updated it (since the other was so out of date). All that was in the new phone book was the pages that were spiral bound in the phone book when I bought it. Anyways, we had a wooden two to three person swing on the patio that DH has stained and shellacked or poly coated (whatever you call it). So a year or two after his passing, I said wow, that swing looks rough, I better re-stain and re-coat it. I didn't know the color of the stain that DH used and I was racking my brains wondering what color the stain and coating was. Now, DH was notorious for making notes about stuff on scraps of paper.
I moved the phone and phone book and a little caddy on the kitchen counter to clean it and what do you think falls out of the phone book. A small piece of paper with the name of the stain color and gloss. I stood there, staring at it on the floor like something alien had landed in my kitchen. There was his handwriting and I smiled to myself and said out loud, still taking care of me aren't you Butch.

Here's another one - again, your choice to believe it or not.
In June of last year, my niece found a baby sparrow in her tree-less yard. Her husband noticed it while he was cutting the grass. Because my DH and I successfully hand raised two sparrows (out of the egg) in 2005, my niece calls me and tells me about the bird. I tell her to bring it to me and I will give it a shot. That night, after little Presto (yeah she's with me permanently) was feed, hydrated and in her makeshift incubator, it dawned on me that in 2005, DH was retired and we did this as a 2 person job. Before I went to bed, I prayed for divine intervention and said out loud to my deceased mom, who had the gift of working with animals for some guidance as I was going to be doing this as a person working full time.
Next morning, it was a Saturday, I had figured out most of how I was going to be able to raise this bird while working full time. I would take a lunch cooler with the hand-feeding formula to keep it fresh, take a thermos of hot water, to warm up the formula, and would be able to dart to and from the garage where I parked my car for the frequent feedings. I stood in my kitchen and struggled with how I was going to keep the baby warm until the sun got high enough in the sky for the sun to heat up the car.
That's when I heard my mother's voice say, you have a hot water bottle don't you Bernie? Without even thinking I said, OMG, Ma, that's genius!
It doesn't happen to me often, but they know when my rear end is against the wall and manage to come through to help me.

might have related this already, but years ago I lost the brakes of my car while going down a HUGE hill. was on my way to pick up parts to rewire a lamp (my father often did this and made lamps out of many objects). While going down the hill without brakes or emergency brake, I wondered whether to run into the bank or just head across the street onto the railroad tracks. 'somehow' I managed to just turn around in the parking lot and head back up the hill. Living on the top of two hills, I kept going at a very slow pace in order to make bends, etc. Made it home safely. After calling to get the car towed to be fixed, my neighbor took me to the hardware store to make my purchase. Purchased what I needed and the change I received was $13.13,,,,,(part) of the # of my license plate, which is part of his homebuilt plane he had flown in. Hmmmmmm, says I.
