I'm sure it's worth a ton of money...Fergie should have no more cash problems now it would seem.

Just lovely and unique like her.

My engagement ring is an oval ruby with baguettes on the sides. I picked it and I think it's beautiful. I get many compliments on it. People have been using colored stones for centuries as engagement rings because diamonds were so expensive.

A lot of Europeans favor stones other than diamonds for engagement rings.
Diamonds became popular in the 20th century simply because of an advertising campaign by DeBeers. They used "Diamonds are forever" to convince people that diamonds were the best choice.
Clearly the campaign was wildly successful.
I personally like to see other stones used.

I find it startling that Eugenie is in the line of succession to the throne, yet Anne, second child of Queen Elizabeth II isn't.
The laws have changed and little Princess Charlotte is in line after Prince George now.

Is this the ring you speak of?
Very nice!

Yes, ma'am that RULES ! Got my name all over it. Alas, I have to be happy with this one. LOL

I've never cared much for diamonds - I find them rather bland when compared to softly colored stones. So for me, Princess Eugenie's ring is lovely and far superior to a diamond. Price is not really a consideration imho.

Sorry, I don’t see the comaparison at all.
Below is Sarah Ferguson's engagement ring from Prince Andrew. These Royals seem to like color.
Now that's a lovely ring. (on a beautiful hand)
Wow that's a gorgeous ring too. Yes on a young hand with no age spots!

And then there's the iconic Princess Diana engagement ring, passed on to Princess Kate. Stunning!
And let us not forget the Kenneth Jay Lane knockoff!
I know I'd never be able to tell the difference. I believe that if I wore the real diamond and sapphire ring, people would think it was from QVC. Who'd ever believe I'd wear the ring of a Princess? How about you?
