I disagree - I think she loved WHO he was - the prince - but not the man. I know she loved her sons, but no one can possibly know what was in her heart toward her husband.

Is that your opinion only?  My statement is based on quite a few things I've read over the years,  the sources being female friends of Diana's.

She loved him and he broke her young girl's heart.  Even though she was no longer 19 when she realized he was no longer Prince Charming.  I think a part of her heart at 36 was still in love with him from her desire to have a family, home, and hearth.  Just my opinion and I have read to more books ect.... than I can believe myself.

Sure her being a virgin satisfied his parents and his being a future King would satisfy most all of ours and absolutely her parents.

Please....lol    She was a flesh and blood woman who was  as flawed as any other person.  She certainly made her fair share of mistakes.  She wasn't an angel or anything close to it.  If anything, her untimely death is shows what can happen when we people drive when they have been drinking.  Even a chauffeur who is driving one of the weathiest and most privileged women in the world.

Drinking and driving is never acceptable, but Diana wasn't wearing her seat belt.    Her injuries would have been much less if she had been wearing it.

I forgot about the seat belts.  That didn't get much play here in the US but it did in British papers.  Like I said; she was just as human and flawed as anyone.

I will never forget her.  She was so beautiful and stylish. The press would not leave her alone. She certainly seemed to get more attention than Prince William's wife.  I don't think Prince Charles really loved her. It was always Camilla.

It's hard to believe 19 years have gone by since Diana was killed in the car crush in Paris.   I think she would be very proud of her two sons. I'm sorry she didn't live to see her two beautiful grandchildren. RIP Princess Diana.

I remember I had been out to dinner with a friend at a little inn about an hour away.  I arrived home late, turned on CNN as I usually did back then, and later heard the breaking news about Diana being in a car crash, that Dodi had died but she was still alive.  I stayed up watching until the awful news that she had not survived the accident.  I'll never forget that.

Almost my exact scenario on hearing the news. I think I had turned on a football game after an evening with friends, and when they announced the accident I tuned in CNN. I was in disbelief. And yes, she missed so much.

I remember seeing the mangled wreck on TV and thinking how could anybody make it out of that alive.

@Greeneyedlady21    I remember when the exhibit with her wedding dress went around the country.  It was even in my city but was one of those things I intended to go to but never got around to it, and I regret that.

We were lucky that we could take a bus from close to where we live, we spent the day at the casino then took the bus back from outside the lobby. It was interesting to see her dress, it looked so dated obviously but still so special. I think Diana said later in her life that she didn't care for it and would have chosen a different style if she could have. I think Kate's dress was timeless and will probably still be considered to be in style decades from now. Like Grace Kelly's dress.

It has been noted that Princess Diana ALWAYS buckled her seat belt.

She was found out of a seat belt. That doesn't mean she didn't buckle it.

Re: Princess Diana - 19th Anniversary of her death

If nothing else, she certainly seemed to be a devoted mother - her sons clearly adored her and miss her to this day, and both make a point of carrying on with her work.

A troubled young woman, yes, but I still feel she was far more sinned against than sinning.
