Queen Elizabeth still drives.  In an article about the accident in People, there were pictures of both Queen and Prince Phillip behind the wheel (separately) with no seat belts.

I bet Queenie had a rough time talking him into that one.  Nobody wants to give up their wheels, teenager or aging prince.

@Kachina624  The Queen simply told him it was either that, or off with his head!

@Pearlee.  It's good to be queen.

Where would he go anyway? I guess just a drive around the country side.

Thankful it ended well.

@OKPrincess

It ended well for Prince Phillip.

I doubt the lady who suffered a broken wrist and had surgery, but faces another surgery because it isn't healing, would agree with you.

Been there, done that.

I still have a titanium plate in my arm from an airbag accident in 1995, just wouldn't heal, after several surgeries and a bone graft.

Not fun.

@KingstonsMom I didn’t realize her wrist wasn’t healing properly. And sorry about your arm especially after all these years.

This is definitely a wake up call to get Prince Phillip off the roads.

No doubt his lawyers had a hand in this.  What a massive liability.

Re: Prince Phillip Gives Up Driver's License

Let's just say they made him an offer that he couldn't refuse. The rest of Great Britain can sleep a little easier tonight knowing Philip is off the road.
