In reading many articles about Prince Philip's 99th birthday, I was so tickled to read that his 'pet name' for the Queen is.......wait for it....."Cabbage", LOL!

Can you imagine referring to the Queen of England as "Cabbage" ????

I though it was sooo cute!

I thought it was cute back when Princess Diana referred to her nemesis Camilla as "the Rottweiler" . But then I was always a big fan of Di. (RIP)

They may be considered pampered by not having to attend to mundane chores such as housekeeping or car maintenance but they are a life-long hardworking couple--they have maintained a heavy schedule of public events, ceremonial events, and international hosting events well past customary retirement age. They have to deal with constant speculation and innuendo with every look, mannerism, and word, written or spoken, scrutinized by press and public. In addition they have their own private business affairs to attend to. To be under that strain would break many people.

I would think at this stage in their lives, why don't they hand the reins over to Charles for goodness sakes. Or is protocol that you have to stay in the role until you pass away?
