Thank you @dooBdoo for sharing. I have a loved one who has suffered bipolar illness from the time she was a child. We didn't know what it was back then. She got diagnosed about 20 years ago and it's taken years to adjust her medication. At one point she was denied insurance coverage and went for a few months without it, which caused terrible episodes of depression and attempted suicide. She moved in with her mother to a state that offered expanded Medicaid so she could be treated. Long story short, she was able to get it under control, found a job offering good insurance and is now thriving. It's not perfect for her, but shes doing it. I wish more people would view a brain condition the same way they view a heart condition or a pancreas condition.
