First of all, it's not all day, every day. THAT is daycare. It's a couple of hours, two to three days a week.
It is mostly, as Corita said, a chance to develop socialization skills. It's about art and play, interacting with other children, music and the like. At least that's what it was when my daughter went to pre-school.
How anyone could be against that is beyond me.
I do know what pre-school is. Our education methods classes covered the gamut, including Maria Montessori. Because some us do not share your opinion, does not mean we are uneducated.
Now I remember why I had you on ignore.
ITA! I don't blame you at all. GREAT IDEA!!!

Adorable, though.
He is not too young for Pre- K.
Actually, he is too young for Pre-K, that is for the year before Kindergarten. He is headed to Pre School, which is for (usually) kids that are about three and four.

I think it's a good thing for the kid to be around other children and be treated as a normal 2 1/2 y/o. Obviously he doesn't have other children "on the block" to play with and learn social skills.

Good for you and your GS ![]()
My mother said I was trained by age 1 something. I don't know how she did that because she was very laid back and loving, definitely not stern.
I never pushed my daughter, I don't teach that way, but I took her doctor's advice.

we don't beleive in pushing either...my DS was constantly removing his diaper at about 18 months and he would want to use the big toilet,so we got him his own little toilet and he thought it was the greatest thing! funny how his DS is doing the same thing, lol, like Father like Son :-)
