@proudlyfromNJ Please don't think I was correcting or scolding you. Just making a comment about PR types and messages from business, political etc. It's a common tactic.
And lots of people here are now demanding citations and I think that's going a little far--I don't see most posters not acting in good faith. And they get called out in a hurry if they do! ![]()

@Sooner. Posts that say "I heard that...." it "I read that... " have little or no credibility with me.
@Pearlee That's ok. That's you. I'm good usually (unless it is really far fetched) and if it is so important that I need confirmation (thinking that that poster is usually a liar?) I can easily search it for myself.
Which is also ok.

@Nonametoday It's true. Reported on Reuters, CNN, BBC, Washington Post, New York Times and Clarence House official Statemnt. Here's the Official Statement:
"“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual. The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with Government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland. The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing."
“It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”"

@proudlyfromNJ Ditto this. My agreement with @Sooner had to do with the recent spate of call outs about citing sources for opinion based comments.

@Sooner Tend to agree. Were I being paid as some sort of investigative reporter, credibility might be an overriding goal with me. For the most part here we're expressing opinions. People can agree with me or not, it's not a huge deal. One would hope commentary is generally based on reasoned and educated opinion, but I'll leave citing sources to 60 Minutes...

Yes @Pearlee I understand the difference and I understand the different circumstances that can occur on the boards. Some of what appears here are merely staements of opinion and other comments might warrant some level of support for statements made intended to be perceived as fact. For me, the importance of offering 'sources' for supposed statements of fact is closely related to the relative importance of the statement being made. At the end of the day, I guess I'm one of those who isn't often inclined to take a great deal of what appears on QVC's message boards all that seriously. As I've noted several times recently, when I want factual information, I tend to rely on primary sources and not on social media.
